The Department of Forensic Science is conducting a search for a forensic science faculty position within its FEPAC-accredited MS program and Ph.D. program. Candidates are expected to be dedicated teachers, productive researchers, and professionals prepared to become actively engaged in the diverse programs administered by the College of Criminal Justice.
A successful candidate must be able to develop and teach graduate-level courses in forensic science,pursue a sustained research agenda, supervise graduate student research and actively participate in the continuous development of forensic science programming at SHSU. Candidates for this tenure-track faculty position should have a doctoral degree with one year of relevant research/teaching experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in forensic biology and human identification techniques currently used in crime laboratories. A working knowledge of emerging technologies, such as next generation sequencing and alternative genetic markers is also highly desirable.The College provides faculty members with exceptional research opportunities through its research centers and advanced training institutes as well as access to outstanding resources to support their professional development.
